Experience the Exhilaration of Discovery in the World's Remote Places aboard a next-generation expedition ship, purpose-built for polar navigation - National Geographic Endurance. A fully stabilized, highly strengthened, ice-class Polar Code PC5 (Category A) vessel, she is designed to navigate polar passages year-round and safely explore uncharted waters, while providing exceptional comfort. Her patented X-BOW® is key to her design, providing powerful wave-slicing action which makes for an extremely smooth ride even in adverse conditions and reduces spray on deck for superior observation. Carrying just 126 guests, she offers a variety of experience-enhancing amenities.
CABINS and SUITES: National Geographic Endurance comfortably accommodates 126 guests in 69 outside-facing cabins. Cabins are efficiently designed, with sizes ranging from the 140-square-foot Solo Cabin to the 430-square-foot Category 7 Suite. Fifty-three of the 69 cabins, including all 12 of the solo cabins, will feature small balconies with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors that bring in the spectacular views and ample natural light. Comfort and convenience is found in every room With temperature controls and modern baths stocked with botanically inspired products. Cabins and Suites are equipped with expedition command centers with tablets and USB/mobile device docking, TVs and Wi-Fi connections.
DINING: Food served onboard is fresh, local, and delicious, and sourced from suppliers who share our values of sustainable use whenever possible. Restaurant Two Seven Zero surrounds superb dining with stellar views, and provides a window on vital expedition team members - our galley staff. The Chef's Table is an innovative approach to private dining. Over the course of each voyage, all guests aboard will be hosted by our Chef. C. Green's, named for Shackelton's cook, offers an early riser breakfast, fresh salads and lighter fare, plus custom grilled selections at lunch and dinner. In addition, daily high tea, hors d'oeuvres at Recap, and BBQs in the Winter Garden provide treats and dining options. When weather conditions allow, lighter fare may be served on the Observation Deck. There is no assigned seating, and the dining room accommodates the entire expedition community in a single seating. During meals your expedition leader, naturalists, and any guest speakers aboard will join you.
PUBLIC AREAS include an Observation Lounge with bar - library - main lounge with full-service bar - state-of-the-art facilities for films/slideshows and presentations - a photo workshop area - and an expedition base with lockers for expedition gear.
WELLNESS: The vessel is staffed by our wellness specialists and features a glass-enclosed yoga studio, gym, treatment rooms/Spa area, and high- and low-heat saunas with ocean views. Plus indulge in the infinity-style outdoor hot tubs. A full-time doctor is onboard.
SPECIAL FEATURES: An undersea specialist, National Geographic photographer, Lindblad-National Geographic certified photo instructor and video chronicler will accompany you throughout the journey.

In 2020 Endurance embarks on a series of eight inaugural Arctic itineraries. Leave the fast-paced, modern world behind. Embark the new, state-of-the-art National Geographic Endurance for an epic journey from the remote reaches of Iceland to the rugged, ice-sculpted shores of Greenland and the spectacular fjords of Norway. Go ashore in the volcanic Westman Islands, then trace the route of legendary Viking explorer Erik the Red to Greenland’s ice-etched eastern coast, home to the world’s largest fjord system. We’ll chart a course north, seeking out big ice and fascinating Arctic wildlife before cruising to Norway to explore the magical Lofoten Islands and fjords that carve deeply into the country’s wild interior.
